Founded in 1982 by Gary Nakamoto, J&D Repair Service started making small impacts on the residential construction industry from the get-go. With humble beginnings, J&D Repair Service completed various residential renovations, additions, and miscellaneous repairs with the pride and quality you can expect out of a locally owned and operated small business. From the very beginning, Gary had instilled a sense of pride in workmanship and ownership in the company and it’s workers, and as a result, the company began to grow. Starting out, working out of his home with no employees, Gary completed countless residential projects for happy clients until finally in 1993, J&D Repair Service became J&D Builders, Inc. and began to grow into the company we know today. Gary has always taken pride in surrounding himself with great individuals with skills that meet and exceed his own, and still holds true today. With 14 full time employees and a full service full time office, J&D Builders Inc. has become the benchmark of a successful small residential general contractor.
In 2003, Gary’s younger son, Daryl came on board to join the J&D Builder’s Ohana. Starting off as a project engineer and estimator, Daryl has taken the initiative to learn and absorb as much guidance from Gary as possible, and is perpetuating Gary’s ideals of customer oriented contracting. Now the new President and RME (responsible managing employee) of J&D Builders, Daryl is in charge of the company, dealing with the operations, and day-to-day challenges as a business owner. Daryl has teamed up with his wife, April, and the two key lead foremen, Aaron and Nathan, to shape the J&D Builders of the future.
With the second generation of J&D Builders taking shape, a very important question must be asked… what is in store for the company? The answer is quite simple… much of the same. With our quality employees, honest work ethics, and a true love of the industry, we will strive to upkeep our place in residential construction. We hope to continue the legacy of customer oriented contracting with a heavy emphasis on superior customer service and exceptional quality products and workmanship.
